At the Crossroads

San Francisco, CA

MY ROLE

Art direction for presentation strategy

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This was a project created for San Francisco’s At the Crossroads. The non-profit organization strives to help San Francisco’s homeless youth. Volunteers participate in both the preparation and delivery of various supplies (food, toiletries, etc.) for these homeless children. Not only does the center offer material resources to kids in need, but it also offers counseling to these individuals as well. The slide show was presented to various Bay Area tech companies in the hopes to receive financial support towards the organization’s services. Sponsors and companies included in this viewing were Twitter, Wordpress, as well as additional local companies.

At the Crossroad’s mission

“At The Crossroads reaches out to homeless youth and young adults at their point of need, and works with them to build healthy and fulfilling lives. By bringing our services directly onto the streets, we cultivate long-term, unconditional relationships with young people who would otherwise be disconnected from consistent support.

We empower our clients to accomplish their individual goals, build community, pursue their passions, and find their own paths to happiness and stability. We believe that there are no limits to what our clients can achieve, and that every homeless youth deserves the chance to build an outstanding life.”

Ayurveda Lifestyle Guide

San Francisco, CA

MY ROLE

Layout designer and Illustrator

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This was an overview visual for one of my yoga clients. In addition to design, I am also a yoga instructor who gives clients Ayurvedic consultations. I was asked by one of my students to produce a daily Ayurvedic guide to healthy eating choices. The purpose of this particular pamphlet was to provide general information for quick reference (as opposed to a detailed list of food options, benefits/warnings, etc). This remains a resource that I use in other consultations. I developed the design concept, all iconography, and layout for this brochure.

About Ayurveda

“The ancient Indian medical system, also known as Ayurveda, is based on ancient writings that rely on a “natural” and holistic approach to physical and mental health. Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world’s oldest medical systems and remains one of India’s traditional health care systems. Ayurvedic treatment combines products (mainly derived from plants, but may also include animal, metal, and mineral), diet, exercise, and lifestyle.”
